Stevens commit opens Lincoln pipeline

Auburn landed one of the top linebackers in the South in February when Tallahassee, Fla., Lincoln standout Craig Stevens signed with the Tigers over Alabama, Clemson and a host of other offers.


And while Stevens was a huge pickup in the 2006 class, his addition has opened the door for the Tigers to land more prospects from the talent-laden school.


"Everybody respects Craig Stevens," Lincoln defensive coordinator Yusuf Shakir said. "Craig was our leader last year on defense, no questions asked. When Craig made the decision to go to Auburn it opened a lot of our kid's eyes that this just may be the place for them."
