Florida LB closing in on UA offer?

Tavares High School linebacker Josh Linam is being heavily recruited by Alabama, and the 6-foot-2, 230-pound middle linebacker appears to be closing in on a Tide offer.

"I've been text messaging with Coach (Chris) Ball and he's been by the school to see me. He said he likes my film and what he saw when he was here and he's going to get the other coaches to look at it and get me an offer," Linam said. "Hopefully, that will happen this week because I like Alabama. Coach Ball has done a good job with me so far and he's recruited me well.

"Coach told me Alabama is trying to sign a big linebacker and defensive line class and that the guys who come in could play as a freshman. Alabama has a great tradition with linebackers. They've had a lot of good ones and if I have the chance to go there and play early that would be great."

Stanford is another school that is on the verge of offering Linam, who currently has four offers and a long list of favorites.
