Tide offers Oklahoma offensive lineman
After signing the nation's No. 2 offensive line class in February, Alabama can afford to be very selective this time around. Among the handful of offensive line prospects with an early UA offer is Matt Romine of Union High School in Tulsa. Romaine had an impressive list of offers before the May evaluation period got underway, but in the last two weeks seven additional major programs have offered the 6-foot-6, 275-pound tackle.
"Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech have all offered me in the last couple of weeks," Romine said. "The coaches came by the school to watch me and they liked me enough to offer. It's been great for me, and I'm honored to be receiving this kind of attention.
"I haven't narrowed down my favorites at all, because if a school is interested in me enough to offer then I'm going to respect them enough to give them a look and check out their program. So I'm going to keep it wide-open until I have a chance to take more visits and see some of the other schools."
Alabama is one of the schools Romine wants to see more of, and he hopes to do so this summer with an unofficial visit.
"Coach (Dave) Rader and I have talked a couple of times and he wants me to come up in June. That's what I'm planning to do because I've heard such good things," Romine said.
