VIDEO: Now Playing, The Chris Allen Show

ATLANTA, Georgia - Hoops fans in the Peach State have become accustomed to watching future Michigan State wing Chris Allen work his magic on the basketball court whether he's playing for Lawrenceville Meadowcreek or his summer team the Worldwide Renegades.

Allen, a five-star shooting guard, ranked No. 22 in the nation by, has become the latest in a long and distinguished group of basketball standouts from the talent-rich Atlanta suburb of Gwinnett County.

The 6-foot-4 wing with a silky-smooth shooting stroke became a well-known commodity to Michigan State basketball fans as soon as he accepted Spartan coach Tom Izzo's scholarship offer. But even before Allen had said "yes" to Izzo, he had begun to develop a grass roots following that began in his home state.

While in Atlanta last weekend, talked to a number of basketball enthusiasts at the Walter Prather Memorial Classic. A handful of those fans informed us that they had come to the tournament for the sole purpose of watching Allen play.
