Weems on the move
Last summer, Cedar Hill offensive lineman Darrion Weems was getting ready to begin his junior year at New Orleans' McMahon High School. Based on his size and athleticism, it was almost certain that Weems would begin to generate interest from colleges across the region.
However, Weems has since become a national recruit due in part to the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina.
As a result, recruiters got a pleasant surprise when they showed up this spring and schools such as Oregon, Tulane, Baylor and Boston College have responded with offers. Florida, Texas A&M, Tulsa and Oklahoma may not be far behind.
