Romine hitting the road
When USC defeated Oklahoma for the national championship two seasons ago, one of the unforeseen consequences was the Trojans' altered presence on the recruiting trail.
USC had already recruited players like Dwayne Jarrett and Keith Rivers from across the country, so not much was expected to change. The Trojans did, however, use their Orange Bowl victory to stretch their recruiting prowess into Oklahoma and Texas.
USC's efforts to recruit Oklahoma prep stars Reggie Smith and Gerald McCoy proved to be fruitless, but the Trojans are determined to steal one from the Sooners.
This year, USC hopes its recruitment of Tulsa offensive tackle Matt Romine will end differently.
