NU Notes: Beck back in action
It's just spring football, but it was good sight to see sophomore quarterback Harrison Beck back on the practice field after missing the last five workouts with an hamstring and shoulder injury.
NU head coach Bill Callahan said Beck underwent an MRI on his shoulder and the results were very favorable.
A decision on if Beck will play in Saturday's Red-White game still hasn't been made, but things look very positive at this point.
"We're going to look at it again and see how he feels," Callahan said. "The MRI showed no significant damage whatsoever to his shoulder, so we're really pleased about that. We're going to take a look at it and see if he throws accurately with comfort tomorrow morning, and if he does so, we'll insert him into the regular rotation."
Callahan added that the experience of playing the Red-White game is invaluable to a player like a Beck.
"I think any time you get on the field to maximize your reps, you're going to get better," Callahan said.
