Michigan offer surprises Ziemba

The recruiting process has gotten off to a hot start for Rogers, Ark., offensive lineman Lee Ziemba. At 6-7 and 295 pounds, Ziemba has the size college coaches love, but he also has the intensity and love for the game that separates elite athletes. When it comes time to give credit for his current situation, though, Ziemba is pretty humble.

"God has blessed me with my size and with a brain," said Ziemba. "It is so incredible that he's blessed me with this size and I have the opportunity to get a free education and play the game that I've grown up loving."

With offers in hand from schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Notre Dame and USC, Ziemba has seen his scholarship totals rise into double digits. Michigan was one of the more recent schools to add its name to the list, doing so within the past couple weeks.

"I got a chance to speak with the offensive line coach, Coach [Andy] Moeller," said Ziemba. "Before that I hadn't really gotten any mail or anything from Michigan and it was kind of all of the sudden. It was a pretty big shock. Obviously I hadn't really thought about Michigan because I hadn't gotten anything from them, but now that they are in the mix I'm going to consider them more."
