Spring practice report: April 4th

The Trojans were back on Cromwell Field Tuesday for a very wet and sloppy practice session.

The slippery conditions put the offense in difficult situations time and time again and the defense took advantage. With several batted balls and interceptions, including a pair by linebacker Keith Rivers, the offensive coaches left the field scratching their heads.

"We have had better days than that, that's for sure," Coach Lane Kiffin commented as he departed practice.

The lack of a running game and a ball hawking defense combined with a steady downpour added up to trouble for Kiffin's unit. Besides Rivers, Oscar Lua and Alex Morrow also had nice interceptions of Trojan quarterbacks.

"We just made a bigger emphasis of running to the ball, everybody is getting to the ball," Rivers said after practice.
