Embry ready for Iowa visit

With a Friday afternoon game on his schedule this week, Detroit cornerback Jalen Embry is flying out to Iowa right afterwards for his official visit with the Hawkeyes. The 5-foot-11, 176-pound Embry, who last visited Iowa City in August, looks forward to learning more not only about the football program, but also the academics at the University of Iowa.

"I went up there once already and I had a good experience, so now I'm looking to see more, especially about what I want to major in," said Embry. "I want to major in criminal justice and they've said they have a lot in store for me as far as meeting with the professors and everything. I'm just looking to learn as much as I can as an athlete and as a student."

The trip will also give Embry a chance to catch up with his friend Desmond King, who is currently a freshman at Iowa and will be his host this weekend. The two grew up playing against one another in the Detroit Public School League with King attending Crockett High School and Embry at Martin Luther King.
