Day 9 Rewind: Woods Stands Out

Sometimes it's hard for someone to stand out in spring football, but on Monday sophomore running back Storm Woods made many plays to turn heads.

Woods, who ran for 940 yards and 13 touchdowns on 192 carries in 2012, looked quick in his cuts. He made a nice play on a sweep, beating the linebackers to the outside and running for 30 yards down the sideline until stepping out of bounds. Woods also was active in the pass game, being the go-to guy whenever the quarterbacks needed a check-down option.

Head coach Mike Riley has also been talking about three young safeties - Cyril Noland-Lewis, Kendall Hill and Zack Robinson frequently over the last two weeks of spring camp.

Riley said today that all three should find the field in some capacity in the fall, either on special teams or in nickel and dime packages.

Of the three, Noland-Lewis appears to be atop the pecking order. With Zimmerman out of spring camp, the redshirt freshman has been running with the first-team defense at safety opposite Ryan
