Turning the Page
There are losses. Every team in college basketball has had at least two this season. And then, there are Losses. Missouri had one of those on Saturday against Arkansas.
"They all hurt, but that one I really thought we was walking away with a win on that one," Alex Oriakhi said of the Tigers' 73-71 loss in Fayetteville. "They all definitely hurt. I think that one definitely hurt the most to be honest."
The reasons it slipped away don't much matter anymore. Yes, there were poor plays by the Tigers. And yes, there were questionable calls that went against them. But there are columns only for wins and losses on the ledger.
"There's a whole bunch of what ifs. What if they didn't do this, what if they didn't do that?" Phil Pressey said. "But you really can't say that because it never happened."
What happened was Missouri's seventh loss of the season. Missouri now stands 18-7 overall and 7-5 in SEC play, in a tie for fifth in the league. But there is no time for the Tigers to lick their wounds.
