Randle opts for NFL over senior season
The long-awaited decision finally hit the airwaves for Joseph Randle.
"I'm leaving bro" he said in a text at about 1 am last night, saying that he would forgo his senior year at Oklahoma State to head to the NFL.
Randle finishes his career with the Cowboys with 564 carries for 3,085 yards and 40 TD's, a great blend of durability and scoring that stole the hearts of the fans at Oklahoma State over the last three years.
This season, he grabbed 274 carries due in large part to running back Jeremy Smith's foot injury that nagged him all season, and amounted to 1,417 yards and 14 touchdowns, including a stellar 199 yards and 2 TD's against Texas.
Randle has been evaluated as one of the better backs in the NFL draft, and will likely be taken somewhere in the middle rounds if the draft were today. He's evaluated as the 5th-best underclassmen running back and the 11th-overall running back in the draft according to ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr, but a good Pro Day workout and Combine can easily move him up on that list.
The NFL draft is set for April 25-27th.
