Smith talking Mississippi State

Arkansas has had its way against Mississippi State of late winning the last three meetings.

The Razorbacks have also claimed 12 of the last 13 in the series. But this season has not gone as many had planned in Fayetteville. The Hogs were ranked as the preseason No. 10 team in the country but are just 4-6 at this stage.

Arkansas will have to win out its final two contests to qualify for a bowl berth. Interim head coach John L. Smith's squad has struggled on the road this season going 1-2 and being outscored 103-54 in those contests.

The Razorbacks will play their final road game at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday.

"Starkville is a tough place to go into and play," Smith said. "All the SEC places are like that so we're going to have to be well prepared. We'll go in try our very best and play hard to get a win. That's where our focus is and that's what we want to get done."

Of course when many visitors think of game day in Starkville the first thing that comes to find is the cowbells. The Bulldogs favorite artificial noisemaker is legal inside Davis Wade Stadium and fans are allowed to ring during designated times when the ball is not in play.
