Middle Tennessee State preview

Sure, Mississippi State has a upcoming showdown with top-ranked Alabama next weekend.

The 15th ranked Bulldogs are also undefeated at 6-0 which labels tonight's 6 p.m. matchup with Middle Tennessee State as more of a trap game.

The Blue Raiders have never defeated a Top 25 opponent in 13 tries since joining the FBS in 1999. That was also the same year MSU began the season with eight straight victories.

The Bulldogs have never lost to MTSU claiming all four meetings including three in Starkville.

State claimed a 27-6 win on the road in Dan Mullen's first season in 2009. The Bulldogs rolled up 333 yards on offense in that contest while then freshmen defensive backs Johnthan Banks and Corey Broomfield both snagged a pair of interceptions.
