Scouting Auburn

Auburn limps into Nashville with a 1-5 record, and is a seven-point underdog to Vanderbilt on Saturday. AuburnSports.com's Jay G. Tate gives our subscribers a great snapshot of the Tigers coming into Saturday.

Three things that are going well for Auburn this season:

1. RB Tre Mason. Auburn's offense may be a mess this season, but the sophomore tailback has done everything possible to fix it. He's averaging 5.1 yards per carry this season. That would rank among the Southeastern Conference's best if the Tigers provided him a reasonably steady workload. He earned 22 carries against Louisiana-Monroe, then dropped to nine carries the next week before rushing just six times against Arkansas. He's not in trouble. He's not injured. That's just how Auburn operates now.
