He Said. She Said. Washington State Rewind

I have a feeling that the Oregon State offensive coaches and players are dying to get back out on the practice field after watching this game film.  So many little errors that can easily be corrected and judging by their reaction post-game, they know just that.

This game never really felt in doubt and while the interceptions and sacks are an area to improve upon, the offense showed that it could string together some solid drives when needed and control the clock (to the tune of 39 minutes to WSU's 21 minutes).

The most striking thing to me is the fight in this squad and the belief that they are going to win.  Remember, this team won only three games last season.  The offense is still loaded with quite a few underclassmen and in one off-season they have bought into the system, in the abilities of their teammates, and are finishing games off.

We have yet to see them put together a full game and I'm struck by a thought of the magical 2000 season which really seemed to start out eerily similar until things really started clicking midway through the year.  The Beavers are now five weeks into the season and already ranked #10.  In 2000 it took them until mid-November to reach that feat.

Disjointed is the best word I can think of to describe the offense on Saturday.
