Five Keys To The Win: Texas

No. 7/8 West Virginia (5-0, 2-0) outlasted an inspired No. 9/11 Texas (4-1, 1-1) team 48-45 in the Mountaineers first Big 12 Conference road game and here are WVSports.com's five keys to the outcome.

5. Defensive stands. West Virginia didn't get a lot, but after Texas had moved the ball down to the West Virginia 36-yard line, and the Mountaineers defense held on a 4th down play when Pat Miller broke up the pass. The Mountaineers also stood strong on the next possession, forcing Texas to kick a field goal that sailed wide right.
