V-Cast: Comp and PK with the latest from training camp

EAST LANSING - The first week of training camp is a good time for true freshmen to make a case for playing time and for overlooked veterans to start fresh.

Rookie Demetrious Cox has lived up to the hype as the headliner of the Big Ten's best defensive backs class. The Jeannette (PA) High star is positioned to carve out a niche for himself on the conference's best defense as a true freshman.

Junior safety Jairus Jones is in the best physical shape of his Spartan career heading into his fourth year in the Michigan State program. The two-year letter winner has impressed Spartan coaches with his play thus far.

Junior defensive lineman Micajah Reynolds showed up to camp in shape and self-motivated. The former Sexton standout's teammates and coaches believe he is ready to embrace his role as a member of the defensive line rotation.

While Reynolds is locked in and working to gain the trust of his coaches, redshirt freshmen Damon Knox and Brandon Clemons are looking to get their first taste of playing time.
