Combine Preview: NFL still interested in Demps?

Florida's run of five consecutive years with a former player being drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft will assuredly come to an end this year, but that doesn't mean that there aren't a couple of UF player who NFL teams are interested in seeing.

This weekend, college stars from all over the country will come together in Indianapolis for the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine. Florida will send two representatives to the showcase, running back Chris Rainey and defensive tackle Jaye Howard. Running back Jeff Demps was the third Gator invited but will not be attending as he has chosen to focus on track rather than football with the 2012 Summer Olympics nearing.

Rainey arrived in Indianapolis on Thursday for a physical, X-rays, orientation and interviews. Over the next two days, he will be undergoing various forms of testing and interviews before working out on Sunday. Howard arrives Friday and will have his workout on Monday.

With the NFL Combine here, it's a good time to do our first breakdown of UF prospects in the 2012 NFL Draft. For expert opinion, I spoke with draft guru Scott Wright from DraftCountdown.com and had him break down each former UF player who could possibly land on and NFL roster this spring.
