V-Cast: Spartans back on top of B10 after beatdown

EAST LANSING - Michigan State moved back into the top spot in the Big Ten with a 83-58 win over Purdue at the Breslin Center Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans also ended their two-game losing streak with the decisive victory.

Michigan State's game against Purdue was the first of four home games for the Spartans during the next five contests. The Spartans were coming off a stretch in which they had been on the road for four of their previous five games.

Following Michigan State's win over Purdue, SpartanMag.com staffers Jim Comparoni, Paul Konyndyk, and Rico Beard shared their thoughts on several topics related to Michigan State's Big Ten win.

Purdue arrived at Michigan State at 10:00 AM after bussing into East Lansing following a number difficulties with their chartered flight. The Boilermakers boarded the bus at 5:00 am.

Purdue coach Matt Painter created a bit of controversy when he explained why he had an exchange of words with Spartan freshman Branden Dawson. Painter also had an exchange with the Izzone after one of its members over remarks that were allegedly directed at senior Robbie Hummel.

It was a big official visit weekend for Michigan State football. Kyle Dodson and Mark Meyers were both on campus of official visit. The SpartanMag.com crew discussed those visits as well as the Twitter conversation between Jaleel Johnson and Jerel Worthy that may have increased the Spartans' chances at landing the four-star defensive tackle.
