GBK: Recruiting Notes and latest news!

Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln High School is a place where college recruiters track back and forth on a regular basis because of the rich tradition of talent that comes out of that school. The Black Knights have offered and have their eye on 6-foot-4, 270 pounder offensive lineman Trevin Huff, who is scheduled to take an official visit to Army after National Signing Day. Look for Huff to hit the West Point campus the weekend of 2/4/12.

"Army offered me last week. I'm still thinking about it. I want to set up a visit and get there to see what it's all about," says Huff maintains a 3.5 GPA and has an upcoming visit to Northern Arizona this weekend.

Speaking of big linemen .... Joe Carber out of the state of Iowa will be making his way to the West Point campus this weekend. The 6-foot-5, 280 pound defensive tackle would be a tremendous pick-up for the staff and this weekend could actually solidify Army's position with Carber.

Another player to keep an eye on is speedy 5-foot-10, 175 pound Joe Walker out of Eagle's Landing (Ga) Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. Walker has played the slot, wide receiver and cornerback positions this past season. He has the kind of motor that Head Coach Rich Ellerson continues to recruit for the program.

Kicker Brooks Abbott has popped up on the Army recruiting charts once again. The All-American kicker has tremendous upside, but only has one offer to date and that is from Western Kentucky. However, Virginia Tech, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and others, along with the Black Knights appear to rekindle the courtship with the Jacksonville (Fla.) prospect.

"Western Kentucky is my only offer and I'm visiting them this weekend (1/20)," said Abbott, who said that he has heard from Army, but indirectly. "They talked to my parents and I'm definitely interested in Army. I've never been there, but I heard that it's beautiful."

"I have no favorites right now and I'm open to all options, even if another school presented itself."

Reggie Barnes, who has tons of offers, that include Pitts., Air Force, FIU remains an enigma. He skipped his Air Force official visit and is now going to Arizona State; Presently, Army is no longer going after Barnes.

On the surprise side of the equation ... but then again, we are talking just a few weeks away from National Signing Day, so surprises are part of the recruiting menu.

As such, DL/OL Gino Bresolin, who many with GBK felt was a Army lean committed to UTEP during his official visit (1/13).
