Fresno State has no time to rest as they travel to Nebraska

After a dissapointing 36-21 season opening loss against California, the Fresno State Bulldogs now must head to Lincoln, Nebraska to take one the number 10 ranked team in the land the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

"This team we are playing this week a very good team on defense, Nebraska is better defensive team in country, We are going to get another huge test this week, so we are going to have to play at a high level." said Head coach Pat Hill about facing Nebraska.

Fresno State came out of the gates offensively trying to throw the football down the feild. It was an emphasis for coach Hill during spring and fall camps. However in Saturdays game against Cal, the Bulldgs were not able to get the passing game going.

"Derek Carr is a very good quarterback, Margin for error is very small against to defense like Cal and Nebraska." said Hill

Derek Carr finished his debut 21 of 33 for 142 yards a touchdown and one interception.

While it took the Fresno State offense a while to get going, one bright spot for the Bulldogs was the play of junior running back Robbie Rouse.

"Robbie Rouse played at a very high level, he avargaed 5.2 yards a carry," said Hill on his starting runningbacks performance.

Rouse carried the ball 17 times for 86 yards and one touchdown. He avergaed 5.6 yards a carry.

Defensively Fresno State allowed 413 yards overall to the Bears offense. Quarterback Zach Maynard had 266 yards, a touchdown and one interception. Cal running back Isi Sofele carried tha ball 24 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

This week against Nebraska, the Bulldogs will face a offense that is led by Taylor Martinez who coach Hill knows is a difrence maker.

"He is a good football player, he out runs most everyone he plays against. He is a definant run threat, and he can throw it." said Hill of Taylor Martinez

Expect Fresno State to run the ball a bit more against Nebraska to try and open up the field more for Derek carr to throw down field.
