Could Heupel's Singular Focus Pay Off Big?

Through the years Oklahoma has made a habit of picking one quarterback to truly pursue and running unwaveringly in that pursuit. That singular mindset has become even more prevalent since the arrival of current quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel. In Heupel's first class, 2006, a little talked about senior from Oklahoma City's Putnam City North was already firmly entrenched in one of the Sooners most talented recruiting classes ever and whether the success of Sam Bradfor helped Heupel make up his mind about singular pursuits or it was a choice he'd long before made is a bit unclear.

However, in the years that passed since it's become beyond doubt that the Sooners signal-caller savant not only likes identifying one player to pursue but has a solid success rate when he does so.

Obviously the most notable exception is the class of 2007.
