Mullen ready for spring to start
Spring practice begins on Friday and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen is counting down the minutes until he can get his squad back on the practice fields.
The Bulldogs are hoping to build off their nine win season last year that included a Gator Bowl victory over Michigan. Mullen sat down with the local media to discuss his spring plans.
Q: So, spring practice gets started this weekend. Your thoughts?
Mullen: "Yeah we start Friday and excited to get back out there on the field. It's going to be a bit difference from what we've done in the past, obviously, splitting up spring practice over spring break and we're back on the field a little earlier that we have been. Seeing the guys on our team, they are ready to get back out there. I am ready to get back and start watching our guys play some football."
Q: Any guys that will miss spring practice?
Mullen: "Tobias (Smith), I don't know if he will do anything coming off that shoulder surgery in January. Everybody else will be limited here and there and do certain things but I think he is the only one that won't be involved in spring drills."
Q: What about (Chad) Bumphis or Marcus Green or others?
