FSU hoping to keep Blanks close to home
For the first time in a long time, Florida State did not sign any Tallahassee athletes in the 2011 recruiting class. The coaching staff hopes to change that trend in 2012 and their No. 1 target is right down the street at North Florida Christian with 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back/athlete Travis Blanks; arguably the best defensive player to come out of NFC since Ernie Sims.
As of now, the Tallahassee rising senior has offers from all the big schools including Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Ohio State. If his name doesn't sound familiar to folks in the Capital City, that's because Blanks lived in Ft. Myers until he was in the 4th grade, but ever since moving to Tallahassee, he's always had a special bond with the Garnet and Gold.
