Ole Miss Preview
Mississippi State will venture on the road for the first time in conference play tonight traveling to faceoff against rival Ole Miss tonight at 8 p.m.
It marks the second consecutive year the Bulldogs have met the Rebels in the Tad Smith Coliseum for in their opening away game and have won their last two contests in that arena.
In fact, MSU has won its last three SEC road openers and five of the last eight. The Bulldogs have also fared well against Ole Miss of late winning four of the last six meetings including the three straight. State holds a 136-105 lead in the series and has defeated the Rebels more than any other opponent.
The two Magnolia State programs shared the SEC Western Division crown last year each finishing with a 9-7 mark inside the league.
But things will be anything but a cakewalk tonight in the 'Tad Pad' as the Bulldogs coming in on a three-game losing skid and dropping five of their last six outings. Mississippi State was blown out in their league opener against Alabama 75-57 on Saturday after only trailing by one point at halftime.
