Orner: Sade should kick for NC State next year

Dan Orner has developed a pretty good reputation when it comes to developing and evaluating kickers. He was a pretty good kicker in his own right, setting a NCAA record with three over 50 yards in one game for UNC. He was twice a Lou Groza Candidate for the Tar Heels before kicking for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL.

Orner now spends his time coaching and training kickers, including NC State's departing Josh Czajkowski. Orner works with about 60 high school kickers from the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and New York, 20 more in the collegiate ranks and one NFL kicker in Tampa Bay's Connor Barth.

Orner runs UNC's kicking camp and holds regional events for kicking.com, Virginia, Towson and the U.S. Army All-American game. This year's Army All-American game has two of his students in Charlotte's Miller Snyder and Raleigh's Niklas Sade. Snyder is headed to UNC, while Sade switched his commitment from Nebraska to NC State over the weekend.
