Mullen talking Florida
After playing two consecutive non-conference games, Mississippi State returns to league play this week in one of the most hostile environments in college football, Florida's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Bulldogs have won three straight but have suffered several key injuries in the process making things even more difficult heading into 'the Swamp'.
"I know our players are real excited to get down there to that environment and back into Southeastern Conference after playing two straight non-conference games," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "We have a couple of guys banged up and that's going to happen especially in this league when this time of year comes. Other guys have to step up and make plays. Anytime you are playing a top-ranked team like Florida, one of the most talented teams in the country, on the road guys have to make plays. Guys that maybe haven't stepped up before have got to step up and make plays for us this week."
Senior wide receiver Leon Berry went down on the opening kickoff of the second half last week against Houston. Berry will miss the remainder of the regular season leaving MSU with only sophomores and freshman at receiver.
