With Brantley at helm, UF offense struggles
Checking up on his quarterback Saturday morning, Florida assistant coach Scot Loeffler asked John Brantley if he had eaten enough at breakfast before the Gators' season opener against Miami of Ohio.
"I said, 'Well, for some reason, I couldn't eat as much this time,' " Brantley replied.
It's easy to understand why.
About to make the first start of his college career, Brantley, the player chosen to succeed the legendary Tim Tebow and the son of a former Florida quarterback, admittedly was nervous.
Imagine how he must have felt once the game actually started.
The Gators might have won (34-12), but for the Florida offense just about everything that could have gone wrong, did.
