Warren holds two instate offers

Heading into last week Indianola Gentry (Miss.) tight end Rufus Warren was still awaiting his first scholarship offer.

But in just a matter of days the 6-foot-5, 238-pounder has picked up two instate offers and could have another on the horizon.

"Right now I'm being recruited by two SEC colleges and a couple of other D-1 colleges," Warren said. "I have offers from Mississippi State and Delta State right now. (Mississippi) State offered me first and Delta State offered me (Monday). I'm waiting on Ole Miss to offer now because they are talking pretty good."

Warren and his mother were both elated when he received his first scholarship offer from the Bulldogs.

"It felt great," Warren said. "It was really a shock because when they called me I was actually talking about going to Mississippi State. I was excited and my mom was excited. It was just a great day."

Warren has been a busy man since then traveling to Ole Miss on Saturday for camp and also to Delta State on Monday where he picked up an offer from the Statesmen. He will be in Starkville this weekend for MSU's camp.
