Pinkston bonding with some of Mississippi's best

Josh Pinkston has already bonded with several of the other top football prospects in the state of Mississippi.

Pinkston, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver from Forest, texts and talks regularly with Raleigh's Donte Moncrief, Philadelphia's C.J. Johnson, Madison's Tobias Singleton and the Jackson offensive line duo of Aaron Morris and Justin Bell.

Before any Ole Miss or Mississippi State fans get too excited about the prospect of a clean sweep of some of the state's top players, Pinkston has cold water to pour on those proverbial flames.

"It's not realistic," Pinkston said, "but we talk about visiting at the same time or whatever. I guess we have to make decisions on our own and go our separate ways, I guess."

Pinkston, meanwhile, is no closer to a decision now than he was when spring practice began at Forest several weeks ago. Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee, Memphis and Samford have made the trek to Forest High School to watch Todd Pinkston's younger brother work. Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss still comprise Pinkston's offer list.

"Basically, they're saying the same thing," Pinkston said. "They all pretty much need receivers."

Pinkston, who said he's focused mostly this spring on becoming a better all-around receiver, said he hasn't set any firm camp dates yet.

"I plan to go to several," Pinkston said, adding that he's "still neutral. I'm looking for the best fit for me and my family. It will come down to where I feel comfortable and where they feel comfortable with me going."
