Walls planning summer visit to Miss. State

Avery Walls is one of the most highly recruited players in the country.

The 5-foot-11, 184-pound safety from McDonough, Ga., has 27 scholarship offers on the table and will likely add a few more before it's all said and done.

"Recruiting is going pretty well for me actually," Walls said. "I have 27 scholarships right now so things are going good. I'm getting interest from several schools that haven't offered me leading into our spring practice."

Walls' offer list reads like a who's who among college football garnering scholarships from Auburn, California, Connecticut, Duke, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Tulsa, UCF, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

"In the beginning I didn't know it was going to be like this," Walls said. "Right after I got my first scholarship they all just started to come I just a big old glob. Once everything settles down I'll get a chance to do my research and looking at some schools to take some visits. It hasn't gotten to the point where it's stressful. I don't get overwhelmed with the calls too much. I'm just having fun right now."

One of the many schools that have been recruiting Wells persistently is Mississippi State.
