Rising corner visits UCLA

Cornerback Josh Atkinson (6-1, 180, 4.4) from Livermore (Calif.) Granada has the speed, size and coverage skills that are coveted in a modern day corner. He also has the physicality, aggressiveness and the hitting ability to play safety, so his versatility is an added plus. Atkinson is the complete defensive back.

Atkinson and his twin brother were Los Angeles this past weekend to participate in the Arcadia track meet and while they were in town, they visited UCLA.

After the visit to UCLA, the Atkinson's competed in a track meet and both stood out. Josh Atkinson ran a 21.64 200 meter. A time that would have placed him in the final, but a hip problem kept him out of the final.

"I could have come out faster from the blocks, but I have a hip problem and I didn't want to make it work," Atkinson said. "So I took it a little bit easy.
