BC high on Jordan's list

Though it's still to early for him to come out with a definitive list of favorites or schools at the top of his list, Tommy Jordan knows one thing for certain -- Boston College is a school he is highly interested in. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle from Ridgefield, Connecticut had plenty of nice things to say about BC in his latest conversation with EagleAction.com.

Jordan is coming off a big junior season in which his stock rose dramatically. He now holds offers from BC, Florida and Duke, and more are surely on the way.

How has BC's recruitment of Jordan gone thus far?

"I guess they started recruiting me as a sophomore but I never knew that," Jordan said. "I guess they were looking at me then, though. Through my coach I got a brochure about their summer camp, so I went up there. It was good and a lot of fun.

"I went on a camp spree to schools all over the country, and BC was the last one i went to. It went well. I talked to some of the coaches after and I felt like they might be getting serious. Then on September 1 they sent me a written offer."

Things didn't slow down then. After the Eagles sent Jordan his written offer they stayed hot on his trail and made it known that they had him near the top of their recruiting board.

"It's been good," he said. "I've talked to them and stayed in touch with them. We've sent a couple of e-mails back and forth. I went up there twice since (the summer), I think, and I saw a couple of coaches. I went to the UNC-BC game earlier this year.

"The great thing about BC is obviously the academics. As a school it's not really even matched. Then Boston's a great city, and with it being relatively close to home it's even better.

"I'm on good terms with a couple of the coaches -- guys like coach Siravo, coach Spaziani and coach Devine.

"I think I'm going to visit BC at some point soon. I think they play Duke or UNC in basketball so I might head out to one of those games."

Jordan said he was also hoping to attend a basketball game at UConn sometime later this year.
