Auburn begins 6-game homestand

After a 5-5 start, Auburn will be looking to get its season back on track Sunday as Sam Houston State visits Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum for the first of six straight home games leading to the SEC opener against South Carolina Jan. 9.

The Tigers are coming off a 76-72 loss at Florida State Thursday.

"We lost a heartbreaker," AU head coach Jeff Lebo said. "We've been in a lot of close games. Certainly a couple of possessions here and there could be a difference for us in our record right now.

"…The one thing that you have to learn about basketball is you have to learn quickly from the mistakes that you made. You have to put it behind you, and you have to get ready for the next one."

The Bearkats are 6-3 on the season with losses to Kentucky, Cleveland State and Louisiana-Lafayette. In the loss to the Wildcats, senior guard Corey Allmond made a Rupp Arena record 11 3-pointers and scored 37 points in a 102-92 loss.
