Mississippi State will venture away from the friendly confines of Humphrey Coliseum to take part in the South Padre Island Invitational in Texas.
Start ravern johnson 200 Image-->The Bulldogs are searching for their first regular season tournament title since 2000. Up first for MSU will be Richmond with tipoff scheduled for 5 p.m. this afternoon.
Today marks the fourth time the two teams have met with the Bulldogs holding a 2-1 advantage. State won the last meeting 74-72 on the road at Richmond in 2001. They are also 15-8 all-time against teams from the Atlantic-10.
Mississippi State enters today's game winners of their last three contests and a 3-1 record overall. They are coming off a 75-50 win over Texas-Pan American on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs are shooting 45.6-percent from the field and averaging 74.5 points per game this season. MSU is knocking down 39.4-percent of their shots from the outside and 68.2-percent from the free throw line. They are outrebounding their opponents by 8.3 and allowing 64 points a contest to them.
