Massive JUCO DT on the verge?
Mississippi State could be on the verge of picking up a big commitment this weekend.
And they don't get much bigger than 6-foot-7, 370-pound defensive tackle James Carmon.
The four-star prospect from Gulf Coast Community College will take his official visit to Starkville along with committed teammates Vick Ballard and Kelvin Bolden.
Carmon has named the Bulldogs as his leader on several occasions throughout the recruiting process and his pledge would not only be good news for the maroon and white faithful but to Ballard and Bolden as well.
"Every day when I see those boys they look at me like 'State?'," Carmon said. "I just tell them to hold on and I'll let them know. It could be happening this weekend."
Saturday will be the massive JUCO prospects second visit to MSU this season also taking an unofficial visit for the LSU game. But Carmon is expecting the Egg Bowl to be an even better atmosphere than he saw at Davis Wade Stadium on his previous trip.
"I'm expecting the atmosphere to be even better than it was against LSU," Carmon said. "I'm expecting it to be a sold out crowd. "I'm expecting a real good time this weekend. That's really what I've been waiting on is for somebody to show me a good time. I'm wanting to see them beat Ole Miss. I'm expecting it to be a close game because Mississippi State has got some defense. I believe they really don't have a lot of offense with their quarterback so I think it's going to be a defensive game."
An added bonus to Carmon's future school is that he is now on track to graduate in December. He has added an online class as well as a weekend class so he can enroll in January and participate in spring practice.
