2011 Defensive end with one offer

One of the top pass rushers in the 2011 class resides at Homestead High school. At 6-foot-5, 210-pounds and quick off the ball, Ricardo Williams has some tools to work with, and some colleges are taking notices.

"Right now, I got an offer from FIU, and UM, Florida and Florida State are looking at me right now," said Williams. "I talk to the recruiting coach at UM and I talk to the recruiting coach for Florida State. They tell me to keep in contact with them. (Miami Linebacker Coach) Micheal Barrow is one and the other one I have on paper, he tells me to email him."

Williams has only taken one unofficial visit this fall, watching Miami host Clemson a couple weeks ago.

The athleticism Williams has coming off the edge is impressive, so impressive he even lines up at wide receiver at times for Homestead. Williams feels it's his non-stop energy that is his biggest asset though.

"The coaches say I got a motor and I think I got a motor too, because every play I go hard and I don't give up on any play. I just go hard. I'm a real good pass rusher, I get back there pretty quick."

His 13 sacks in 9 games this season backs up his claim about his ability to get after the passer. Williams feels his play on the field was good and improved week to week.

"I think I preformed pretty good because when we first started we were playing teams that run a lot so I couldn't really get as many sacks as I want. As the season started going I started using my hands more and getting more sacks. I had a lot of tackles for loss in the backfield too so I think I've had a pretty good season."

With the offseason here Williams is looking to fill out his thin build to help become a complete defensive end.

"For right now I'm trying to put on another 10 to 15 pounds before spring so I can be solid and work on my run support to improve my all around game."
