Long journey leads Withey to Kansas

For redshirt freshman Jeff Withey, the journey from Horizon High School in San Diego, Calif., to Lawrence, Kan., has been anything but ordinary. Shortly after taking an unofficial visit to Kansas midway through his high school career, Withey opted for Louisville. Before his prep career ended, the No. 8 ranked center in the 2008 class, backed out of his verbal pledge and ultimately decided to ink with the Arizona Wildcats. Just as he was getting comfortable on campus, Lute Olson walked away from the program he'd built into a national power during his tenure, which left Withey wondering what the future would hold. It didn't take long for the former four-star prospect to realize that future was located at the University of Kansas.
