Good tempo for Thursday's practice
Once again UCLA head coach was very pleased with his team's effort, especially with the tempo of the practice. The things discussed with the media after practice was the tempo, injuries, the upcoming scrimmage and the special teams. Everything seems to be pointing to a very good showing by the team on Saturday when the pads start cracking.
Neuheisel: "I was pleased today. We took the pads off the legs so that we can stay fresh for a great scrimmage on Saturday, but we really asked for up tempo and except for one little waning moment during the special teams portion of practice. I thought we had a great tempo. So that was pleasing, that we could learn how to practice with shells and still get a lot done. Hopefully we'll get a great scrimmage on Saturday. I am looking forward to it.
"I'm not sure if any of our injured guys will be back for that. My guess would be no. I don't know if we would try anybody, but hopefully we will get some guys back early next week, but I am pleased. I like what I am seeing and hopefully we will be a little bit better after Saturday."
By guys that will miss the scrimmage you mean Christian Ramirez, Chane Moline
Neuheisel: "Yes, Cory Harkey and all those guys."
