Auburn commit faces postseason surgery

After sitting out last week's game, Bessemer (Ala.) Academy linebacker Harris Gaston is ready to return to action this week despite a torn labrum that will require postseason surgery.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Gaston, who committed to Auburn in April, said playing with the injury won't be a problem.

"I can play through pain," he said.

Gaston said doctors would clear him to play once he regained strength in the joint. He is being treated by Dr. Jeffrey Dugas of the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center.
