Notebook: Injuries hit Tigers again
Auburn came out of Gainesville Saturday night with another win over a Top 10 opponent. But it came with a cost.
Both defensive end Quentin Groves and tailback/return specialist Tristan Davis left the Florida game in the second half with an injury. Groves dislocated three toes in his right foot and could be out a couple of weeks.
"Quentin dislocated three toes, put them back," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "He got stepped on and it hyper-extended it back.
"He's walking in a boot right now. They're going to x-ray him again tomorrow. They've x-rayed him and they don't think there's any damage. If that's true, he can come back whenever he can work out the soreness."
The news was even worse for Davis, who missed the first four games of the season after undergoing surgery on his right toe in August. Davis broke his right foot returning a kickoff in the third quarter.
The junior will likely be out the rest of the season.
