Freshmen signees officially report to the Plains

Neil Caudle has been on Auburn's campus since the first week of June.

So the freshman quarterback has had plenty of time to get used to life as a college student. But that doesn't mean Caudle, like the rest of AU's 19 scholarship newcomers, isn't excited - and nervous - about the first official day of practice.

"It seems surreal," Caudle said Tuesday. "Growing up, watching Auburn, watching the big teams play, it feels surreal to be in this spot to actually get a chance to play."

Tuesday was the official reporting day for Auburn's newcomers, including six invited walk-ons. But most of the freshmen have already been on campus for months, taking classes and participating in offseason workouts.
