Green standing out early

One of the strongest positions for the 2014 recruiting class in Georgia is defensive back, and one of the top prospects at that position is Martin Luther King cornerback Wesley Green.

Green who currently has a dozen offers, is being recruiting heavily by schools in the SEC and ACC schools.

As a matter of fact, Green was most recently offered by two SEC schools with rich tradition.

"Right now, I've had a pretty good start. I've recently talked to Tennessee and Alabama," said Green. "I was offered by Tennessee and Alabama recently. Seems like I have been getting a lot of attention lately."

One of the first schools to offer Green was the home state Georgia Bulldogs, and Green says that they are definitely one of the schools that is giving him the most attention.

"I receive mail from UGA almost every other day, and I talk to Coach (Scott) Lakatos on Facebook all the time," said Green. "He wished me happy birthday the other day. I think they are supposed to see me sometime soon."

Green, who grew up as a Florida fan, is also being recruited heavily by the Gators.

According to the 2014 recruit, Georgia and Florida are two of his favorites at this point, but he isn't ready to name a top group just yet.

"As far as schools I really like, Georgia is really surprising me. Both Georgia and Florida are really surprising me. They are probably recruiting me the hardest right now. I don't have any top schools or anything, but I do like Georgia and Florida a lot."

Most schools at this point in the process are recruiting Green to play cornerback, but the MLK standout does a little bit of everything for MLK, and is hoping that he and his teammates can finish strong this season.

"I'm having a good year. I think I'm about to start catching punts so I can be ready for next year to do that, but I know coach has been talking about getting me out there on offense. I'm playing receiver and cornerback right now, but I'll do anything to help us win."
