The dude is absolutely terrible. If Lowe hadn't gotten 7+ runs of support in the first two months, his record would be something like 3-18. It's absolutely ridiculous that this guy is our highest paid player when he has been nothing but a liability since we signed him.
He looks particularly horrible so far today. He's on pace to give up about 20 runs. Don't think I'll be able to watch this game.
I meant to post this over here in the first place. Came back from lunch to find I had caused quite a conflagration over on the bunker with this...haha. I was hoping Lowe would learn how to pitch while I was gone, but I see that didn't happen. How much longer are we going to have to put up with this over paid batting practice pitcher?

1 more year. I'd be willing to bet if he continues to pitch this way they will just buy out his contract after next year.

Do you think if Medlen hadn't gotten hurt, Lowe would still be the # 4 guy in the playoffs? I do... I think Cox would have gone w/ him (assuming we make the playoffs)even if Medlen were pitching & pitching well.

Do you think Cox is a moron? I seriously doubt he would use Lowe if Medlen was pitching great. At this point, the braves will be very lucky to make the playoffs so that may end up being a moot point.

Pfft. Sorry but no way will they sit around and pay this guy $15 million again next year while he pitches the same way with the same results. It's equivalent that old definition of idiocy, "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
They'll either trade him in the off season or work out some deal to dump him on some team desperate for a starter an just eat some of his salary ourselves. No one other than Bobby would agree to keep running him out there every 5-6 days. It's a lost cause and it just puts unnecessary pressure on other 8 guys in the lineup to score 5+ runs to have a chance to win. That whole scenario week in and week out is just plain stupid and I'm willing to bet that Freddy Gonzalez won't do it.

A little early to be calling it a moot point. No, I don't think Cox is a moron but based on his track record w/ decisions like this, there's no way he would use anyone else over Lowe.
