can Chizik REALLY be a bad coach when he just recently won a national championship? I haven't been following Auburn's recruiting, etc, very closely recently, but it seems to me there must be other reasons than Chizik for this year's Tiger season.
And I would not hesitate a nanosecond to trade you head up Lane Kiffin for Gene Chizik, who has at least earned his stripes without the evils of NEPOTISM, Lane Kiffin being Pete Carroll's Godson, and always having had everything GIVEN to him without earning ANYTHING.
Again, I don't know enough about your personnel to make very intelligent judgements here, but I would lay you TEN to ONE Chiizik would have led thiis year's Southern Cal team to at least a Souther Pac 12 championship, and I believe he would have even defeated the Oregon Ducks at the Coliseum instgead of what our staff of bonifide clowns did.
Hoewever, I DO NOT include Coach O, Ed Orgeron, our TECHNICAL DC, though Monte Kiffin really IS our DC...I do NOT blame Coach O for any of our woes, and with him and Chizik teamed up, I think our D this year would have been amongst the top ten.
If I were Pat Haden, I'd fired BOTH Kiffins, and gladly take Chizik either as head coach or as someone to work together with Coach O. Say, promoting Coach O to head coach with Chizik as his D.C. EXCEPT, I have read where Chizik sort of learned much of his D philosophy under Monte Kiffin? IS this so? Does Chizik ALSO play the Monte Kiffin soft zone tampa two D? iF SO....YIKES! Because, otherwise, we have two REAL bonfire Turkeys on our staff that make your coaches look like geniuses IMO. Happy Thanksgiving!

We get the bla, bla, bla that Cam Newton was a one man team. Forget the fact that we also had a Lombardi award winner and 5 go in the draft that year. Chizik kept the team focused that year and led Auburn thru a tremendous amount of off the field crap (crap as in tons of allegations and nothing found by the NCAA). CGC and team did a heck of a job that year.
We knew we were in for a down year the next year with many SRs and JRs going in the draft. The next year we have off the field issues and change coordinators. This team has not shown development thru the year and seems to lack motivation. That is the issue I see. The lack of development is the worst. Chizik hired Loefner because he could 'develop QBs' and that ain't happening. We start a frosh, benched two others and it has been a weak spot all year.

UM is doing just fine in terms of O line recruiting.
My guess is Diamond doesn't survive the turmoil at Auburn and transfers in disgrace with in a year.
