He would make for a good head coach at Auburn.

As a Bama fan that guy would make me nervous. What he has done with PSU
is nothing short of a miracle. He's the real deal and an upstanding guy. Would
he leave PSU for AU?

Just don't let him bring Ted Roof back with him.  :-)

Roof is actually doing a good job right now. It may be more of O'Brians doing though.

OP....I think he would be a great hire.  Has done a great job under.

PS is on a 4 year bowl ban and is going to be limited to 15 'ships per class and a total of 65. PS is going to be going downhill quickly. Auburn would be a perfect fit. Time to get on it.

Solid Hire, no doubt.

You guys couldn't afford him. I am not sure if anyone could.
His buyout is ridiculous.

That being said, I love how jealous Pitt fans are.
We have ridiculous sanctions for 4 years and they still know we are better

Highly doubt it. He is an upstanding guy and one terrific football coach. His contract has a huge buyout clause as well.

If he would consider leaving, it would be for an NFL contract IMO, and that would have to be the right one. He already took himself out of consideration for a rumored NFL job last year before accepting the Penn State job.

OBrien has 8 years remaining on his contract (4 were automatically added when the sanctions were handed down). His buyout is $2M/yr for every year remaining on the contract. That's a lot of shekels by anyone's standards. I don't think there is any program willing to pony up that kind of money for a guy that doesn't have even a couple of years under his belt. Further, he's has said multiple times that he''s staying at PSU because its a special place to coach.

What an 'effin sPitt as*hole. O'Brien will be at PSU to kick sPitt's arse big time in 2016 & 2017.

Bill O'Brien would also likely bring the same public relations nightmare that hiring Petrino would bring. After convincing all the players to stay at Penn State, O'Brien would likely be crucified by the media if he bailed out for another college job at the first opportunity

how about todd graham?  he might be looking for his next dream job.

for a long time. RU serious? he's invested so much of himself to put the program in a spot where they're already attracting top-flight talent. Plus his family is now esconced in State College, which isn't as bad a place to live as the media would have you think. He ain't a goin' nowhere, folks. Fo ged aboud it!

A Pitt fan. Go take a hike, bud. You have no clue what you're talking about. First thing you should do is try to help your university get more than 25 or 30,000 at a game. Seriously, the theory about PSU going downhill is a myth. It's not going to happen.

That wouldn't come close to BP. He is a better coach too IMO

If not for players bolting he'd have an 11-1 team this season, and he's doing a lot with what he has left, the guy can flat-out coach. Wouldn't surprise me to see somebody make a run at him.
