Maybe Bama is just better at enforcing discipline than some other schools that we won't mention? Food for thought. Given Saban's proclivity to "process" players - a notion that is popular on this board - it would seem there is little margin for error as a player. Saban has others lined up behind him to take his place, and they know that.

There are always a lot of comments on this and other boards when this or that player commits or de-commits from one team or another. I am really curious to see how the bamas of the world accept Liner after the mudslinging and name calling and mud dragging they put this kid through. I thought after the comments made about him last summer, he was surely in prison or at least a halfway house somewhere. For whatever reason he changed his mind or our staff changed the direction we are going in, I wish him well and hope he has a great career except for one game each year.

Just an immature kid. Hopefully he will continue to grow up

Good post. I'd have to agree.

Either way, I'm not one to slam a kid for committing or decommitting to Alabama or any other school. Everyone picks a school for their own reasons and at the end of the day, it is THEIR choice.

Yea, that it the ticket.  bammy just a better place at enforcing discipline.   Liner is looking for a place that will help discipline him.  That has to be it.

I did some mud slinging.  I am not in favor of signing him but if we do based on what I have seen down there he would be on a short leash and a clear understanding.

I actually do not think this thought process is too far off base.  Some kids want discipline.  Some have never had it and yearn for it.  I see it all the time in kids that have come and gone through my own house.  I am not military but darn close and I have seen the bright side of a bad kid often when they are around me and know what I expect.  JMO.

I seem to remember when Liner was having all his problems in the Summer with the pool break-in, with police when they stopped his mother, and when he was suspended for several games early in the Fall that we were told on this very forum what a thug and a trouble maker he was and how he would always be in trouble and never amount to anything by numerous uat fans, some even posting in this very thread. But we as Auburn fans had his back and supported him through all his trials and tribulations.  But now he is just a misunderstood, immature kid that wants to be disciplined. LOL.

Well Nud, it sounds like those posters were hypocrites. It happens from both sides. It is the nature of the rivalry. Either way we got a solid pick up. Thanks lol

Has he already committed to uat? I just hope he doesn't get the same treatment as Darius Philon. Well on the other hand I actually hope he does. That would be a LOL.

You are not quoting me correctly but to some extent you are right.  I posted that above....you must not have seen.
1/15 7:39 PM | IP: Logged

I went back and read your post and I don't see where I am quoting you. Are you saying he decommitted from AU because he needed discipline?

1/15 8:00 PM | IP: Logged

Maybe some bad communication.....I was a mud slinger on Liner early and still would not be in favor of not signing him unless there was evidence that he desired discipline and was put on a short leash.  But I am a hard tail.

It is pretty much the worst kept secret that he will be a part of our class.

You are not the only one. Nearly every uat fan that posts here ran Liner down and nearly every Auburn fan had his back. But like someone else said, those people are nothing but hypocrits. He claims he was closer to the old staff and never made a connection to the new staff and that is fine. If he feels that way it is probably best he decommitted. I find it hard to believe that a life long Auburn fan, as he claimed to be, would commit to a staff rather than the school but that is just me. But I really liked the part where he is just a misunderstood, immature kid that is looking for discipline.

Yea,  most 18 year old kids are looking for discipline.  Someone to kick their azz on a consistant basis and tell them how to behave.   18 year old kids love that stuff.    In fact,  if the state pen had a D1 ball team, they would be a top 5 program every year with all the azz kickin' they dish out.

I think that is why Liner wants to go to bama.   He saw sabear slap AJ Mctats azz and wants some of that kind of discipline.

lol at bammer disciplining anybody better. Maybe he just fits in better at a school where the head coach's own daughter beats the crap  out of other bammer students badly enough to send them to the hospital to get treatment for their injuries

He might say his decommitment is because of the coaching change at Auburn, but I personally doint believe that. I believe this situation is similar to TJ Yeldon and this change has been in the works for several months, even going back to when Chizik and his coaching staff were still at Auburn. I dont have a problem with the change. Just with him lying and trying to deceive people about the change

I'm thinking these kids love azz whoopin' discipline.   Saban daughter kickin' azz,  Saban slappin AJ azz,  Rolo runin' dat azz over,  Upshaw kickin' dat girl friend azz, etc..  it is all about kickin' azz and these 18 year old know they need a school where they can get dat azz kicked and kick some azz of there own.

If the loved getting their azz kicked they would go to Auburn. It happened about 9 times this year

I hate for any kid on any side to decieve any school.  I think we jump to conclusions just because a kid flips.  Plus do any of really know what is said.
