Bates wasn't under the radar per se, but he transferred from a smaller school in Memphis to OB for his senior year and had NO exposure whatsoever. He had no tape out from his Soph/Jr. years and was poorly marketed by his coaches. He had several legit scholarship offers, including one from Auburn and Bama.
